final daze

I'm very sad at the moment. No, it's not because I left my job, a great city and the best friends a queer could have. That's not it. It's because one of my dear friends, Kira, informed me that there is ANOTHER BLOG, that isn't mine, that's called Guadalablogga (please note the additional "g"). I feel like I just arrived to a party loaded with hot single gay potential husbands only to run into some skinny bitch wearing the same dress as me. I also feel that the extra "g" is more phonically correct which can only mean the skinny bitch looks better in the dress.

I read the other blog and although the name is similar, the content is extremely different. Therefore, I'm keeping the name.

Ok, let's continue on my second self discovery journey....

I lied in the beginning when I said I wasn't sad about leaving my friends. I miss them so much I want to die. My ears haven't even popped from the descending plane and I already miss them ALL so much.

I had several good BI parties and below is a lil guide I put together for a quick run down of all the high/low lights.

A Rent-A-Center BI
Originally my work planned to picnic on the roof but settled for lunch in the conference room.

HI: food from Golden Era and getting trendy/expensive suntan lotion
LO: coworkers demanding I make a speech on the spot

Sweet Escape
For the official good BI party kickoff, I had a picnic in Dolores Park. Every single guest arrived way late but the party turned out to be a huge success nonetheless!

HI: everyone who i wanted to see was there, the "memory cookies" laura made (cookies with personal messages on it, such as "scabies" and "dead bitch"), and the egg race that emily organized.
LO: ex bf's friends' "coincidentally" showed up and ate all my expensive cheese and deviled eggs and losing to young in the egg race.

Sweet Escape After Party at the Pilsner
What happened AFTER the Sweet Escape Party...

HI: sitting on greggorz lap
LO: getting my picture taken while having a really bright red face

80's nite!
Since the day I met him, Allister was always trying to guilt trip me into going to 80's night at the Bar On Castro. I rejected his offer each time because baby char doesn't go out on "school nights".

(PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS JUST A RANDOM PICTURE AND NOT FROM 80'S NIGHT)
HI: great 80's music that gave me flashbacks of a more innocent life, watching kris hookup in the bathroom
LO: a greg and pooh bear sandwich

Psychic Diner Game (PDG) Party
A LV tradition that unfolds the secrets of the future. I hate Mel's on Van Ness but for the Psychic Diner Game to work, the participates must be in a diner. San Francisco limits our diner choices so Mel's it was. Much like the hips of Shakira, the PDG NEVER lies.

HI: young writing a secret message to me on the bathroom wall, knowing the future
LO: arriving to the diner with no money for the taxi

That's it! Now I'm back home in suburban PA taking comfort in the hot barely legal guys that San Francisco lacks!

Charlicity!: An Introduction

Several years ago I moved across the country to find out exactly who the "real" Charlie was. I never did discover the answer but had a blast nonetheless. In fact, my self discovery journey was so much fun that I decided to take another one...this time with a lil' salsa flair! In a few short weeks my luscious locks will be bursting with natural blond highlights thanks to the many Tequila sunrises I'll be enduring.

Guadalajara sunrises to be more exact. I recently learned that Guadalajara is Spanish for "City Of Roses" only to uncover it is actually an Arabic word meaning "River Of Shit, River Of Sewage". Be it a "city of roses" or a "river of shit", I really don't care. I'm gonna rediscover myself for a second time either way!

I'm not starting this blog from the beginning of my Guadalajara experience like any normal blogger would do. Instead, I beginning from where I'm leaving off.

Which, in turn, takes me back to those luscious locks of mine.

My first act on the road to a 2ND second self discovery was to prove to myself that I am in control of this journey. If any of you ever had any depth whatsoever in the late '90s you've watched a few episodes of the WB's FELICITY. I know I'm not going to win any creativity points with this one but why mess with such a clever idea? As an act of independence and strength, I too chopped my ringlets off.

I, babiest char, will be arriving into Mexico as a strong, independent (wo)man who will not let any Latino keep him down. Beware, South of the Boarder! Besides, it's going to be really warm in Mexico during the summer and who wants all that extra insulation on their head?

This time around, I will be doing a few things differently. The whole 'not knowing anyone' or even 'speaking the language' is definitely going to be a change. More importantly, however, I plan on keeping this blog updated for family, friends and above all, yours truly. Finally! I'll have documented proof of at least one of my self discovery journeys.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy self discoveries!
